Hello, family, and welcome back to the AAA Resilience Podcast, where we journey together to awaken to our true identity in Christ, become aligned with God's word, his will, and his purpose, and live activated by the power of the Holy Spirit. I am your host, Dr. Roland St. Gerard, and I'm grateful to continue this journey with you through season three. Chase by Grace, pursued by a savior who would not quit. This season is based on my book Chase by Grace, a testimony of the relentless love of Jesus Christ, the Savior who searches for us, restores us, transforms us, and calls us into purpose. In our last episode, when life begins with broken pieces, we talked about the beautiful truth that Jesus does not throw away broken pieces. He restores them. We discover that our wounds do not disqualify us from grace. Our struggles do not surprise God. Our painful chapters do not prevent his purpose. Today we continue the journey by entering a place many people avoid. The hidden battles within. The struggles no one sees. The wounds behind the smile. The fears behind the success. The questions behind the faith. Because sometimes the greatest battles we fight are not around us. They are within us. The battles behind the mask. Every person has a public story and a private story. The public story is what people see. The smile, the accomplishments, the responsibilities, the strength, the image we present to the world. But behind the scenes, many people quietly wrestle with things they rarely express. Fear, insecurity, anger, regret, shame, disappointment, spiritual exhaustion, questions they are afraid to ask, pain they have learned to hide. We can become experts at appearing strong while silently struggling. But here's the truth. Jesus did not come to heal the version of ourselves we show to people. He came to heal the real person within. David prayed in Psalm 139, verse 23 and 24. He says, Search me, O God, and know my heart. Test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there's any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. David understood something powerful. Healing begins with honesty, not hiding, not pretending, not performing honesty. The same God who sees the deepest parts of us is the same God who loves us completely. Nothing hidden from people is hidden from Christ, and nothing revealed to Christ is beyond his ability to restore. Many hidden battles begin because somewhere along the journey we learned things such as don't show weakness, don't talk about pain, keep everything together, be strong. So we build walls, we create masks, we protect ourselves. But sometimes the same walls we build to keep pain out eventually keep healing out as well. Jesus invites us into something different. He said in Matthew 11, verse 28, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Notice what Jesus did not say. He did not say, Come when you are perfect, come when you have everything figured out, come when you are strong enough. He said, Come weary, come burden, come honestly, come as you are. Looking back over my journey, I realized there were seasons when God was not only changing what people could see, he was healing what people could not see. The outside can look successful while the inside still carries unanswered questions. The outside can look strong while the heart still carries wounds. But Jesus is not interested only in changing our appearance. He transforms our hearts. The grace that chased me was not chasing an image. Grace was pursuing the real me. The child with questions, the young man searching for identity, the person carrying things only God fully understood. And this is the beauty of Jesus. He knows everything about us and still chooses to love us. Here's triple A principle number one. Awaken. Christ awakens us to what needs healing. Awakening requires courage. Because before something can be healed, it must first be acknowledged. Jesus once asked a man who had been struggling for years. In John 5, verse 6, Jesus says, Do you want to get well? It seems like a simple question, but it is powerful because healing requires willingness. Sometimes we become so familiar with our struggles that we adjust our lives around them instead of bringing them to Jesus. Grace awakens us by revealing this needs healing, by revealing this needs surrender, and this needs my touch. That is God's touch. And here's your awaken reflection question. Ask yourself, what have I been carrying silently that Jesus is inviting me to bring to him? One of the enemy's greatest strategies is convincing us that our struggle is our identity. The thought becomes such as I failed, then it becomes, I am a failure. I make mistakes, then it becomes, I am my mistakes. I experience rejection, then it becomes, I am unwanted. Jesus separates your identity from your struggle. The Bible declares in Romans 8 verse 1, therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Conviction leads us toward healing. Condemnation keeps us trapped in shame. Jesus brings freedom. Here's triple A principle number two. Aligned. Aligning our inner voice with God's voice. Alignment happens when we stop agreeing with lies and start agreeing with Christ. The lie says, you are too broken. Christ says, you are being restored. The lie says, you are alone. Christ says, I am with you always. The lie says, you will never change. Christ says, I make all things new. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 10, verse 5, he says, we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Spiritual alignment means allowing the truth of Jesus to become louder than every false voice. And here's your aligned reflection question. Ask yourself, what belief about myself needs to be replaced with what Christ says about me? Your healing has purpose. Jesus never heals just to return us to where we were. The same place where you struggled may become the place where you help others. The person who overcame fear can encourage someone afraid. The person who experienced rejection can show compassion. The person who received grace can extend grace. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 1, verse 4, God comforts us in our troubles so that we can comfort others. Your healing becomes part of your assignment. And his triple A principle number three, activated. Christ turns healing into ministry. When Jesus restored Peter after his failure, he did not only forgive him, he gave him purpose. Read in John 21, verse 17, where Jesus told Peter, Feed my sheep. In other words, Peter, your failure is not the end. There is still an assignment. There is still purpose. That is what grace does. Grace restores, then grace activates. Here's your activated reflection question. Ask yourself, how can what Christ is healing in me become hope for someone else? All right. Here's your grace declaration. Repeat this. Say, Jesus knows the real me and loves me completely. I do not have to hide from my Savior. My struggles are not my identity. My wounds can be healed. My mind can be renewed. My heart can be restored. I awaken to God's truth. I align my thoughts with Christ. I am activated by the Holy Spirit for purpose. I am still being chased by grace. Before we close, let us pray. Lord Jesus, thank you for seeing beyond the surface. Thank you for loving the parts of us that we often try to hide. Today, Lord, we bring our hidden battles into your presence. Heal our hearts. Renew our minds. Break the power of shame, fear, and false identity. Awaken us to who we are in you. Align our thoughts with your truth. Activate our lives for your purpose. Let our healing become a testimony that points others back to you. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Family, if today's message encourages you and you want to continue this journey of faith, healing, resilience, and transformation, I invite you to read my book, Chased by Grace, pursued by a God who would not quit. In this book, I share more of my personal testimony, the hidden battles, the struggles, the moments of searching, and most importantly, the Savior whose grace never stopped pursuing me.
